William Green was born abt in James City, Virginia.

On June 18, William Green patented acres in Amelia Co, Virginia. The property was bounded by Deep Creek, the Appomattox River and Horsepen Branch. Later the same year he was granted 1, acres on the south side of the Appomattox River bordering on Wicomoco (Wintercomake) Creek.

William Green married Amey Clay (Williamson after , June 9) and had children William, Thomas, Martha, Amey, Filmer, and John (born posthumously). p18

William Green died abt. June [will written 19 July , probate 22 August ] ^[2]

He was buried in Green Cemetery - Amelia County, Virginia ^[3]

B. No. 1, p) (recorded means probate; it occurs after death )

Provision is made for widow, Amey Green, and the following named children: Thomas, Martha, Amey, Filmer and William. There was also provision made for "the child unborn". William Green's will included the following provisions. acres plantation and horsepen between Green's Rd and Appomatox River.

To son Thomas 52 acres I now live on, to son William 1, acres, to son Filmer one slave, to daughter Martha, 2 slaves to daughter Amey.

William Marston Green was born abt in Virginia of Thomas Green (Thomas Abner Green) and Elizabeth Marston Green.^[4]

He married Amey Clay.

Their daughter Martha was christened 4 July ^[5].

They had 6 children; Thomas. William, Filmer, Martha and Amey mentioned in his will, and John born in after William's death.

William Marston Green died in in Amelia County, Virginia; 22 Aug was the probate date for his will written 19 July ^[6]

William's wife Amey was expecting a child when he died; she named him John.^[7][8]

• I requested the basis for Kt marking the parents confident as on the surface they appear incorrect today.

  I'm wondering if there is conflation here. thus I wouldn't want to merge away Green and lose the other possible William Green.
