Elie Wiesel (pronounced /ˌɛli vɪˈzɛl/;[1] born Eliezer Wiesel on September 30, July 2, )[2] was a Romanian-AmericanJewish writer, teacher, political activist, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize and Holocaust survivor.
His most well-known book is Night which is about his life in several concentration camps during the Holocaust. He was a humanitarian.
