I tried to include a high interest passage and other activities to go along with it. Check them out below:

•The passage is student friendly, yet informative, containing all the important aspects of the person’s life and work.

•Afterward I chose to add a ( on two levels) to make sure the students fixed some of the information.

•The sheet (also on two levels) helps the students gain an idea of the time period discussed while also arranging in chronological order the main events in the person’s life.

•The activity ( on two levels) allows the student to discuss one of the person’s most famous quotes.

•The activities (informational and opinion) encourage students to dig deeper into the topic and express their own opinions.

•I also included a sheet called Other Opinions, where students can go around the class, or work in pairs or groups, and write each other’s opinions on the topic.

I found this activity to be great for discussions or debates. It’s one of my students’ favorite.
